SIPPO is supporting The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic Indonesia - Public kick-off for B2B matchmaking preparation
SIPPO Indonesia is turning a new page in Phase 2 by entering into a new partnership with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (MoC) to increase BSO staff skills in organizing professional export promotion program which eventually, they could provide better services to SMEs in Indonesia. As a first tangible activity, SIPPO is supporting MoC particularly sub-deputy of partnership and market expansion which is under Deputy of SMEs to conduct B2B matchmaking for NI sector with product group focus spices, coconut and its derivatives and with possibility to cacao and coffee products.
In phase 2 of the SIPPO programme SIPPO Indonesia is entering a new partnership with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (MoC) which has a very clear mandate to provide market access to SMEs. The cooperation between SIPPO and MOC is very in line with MOC’s mandate and it has a mutual objective to provide better market access program to SMEs in Indonesia by increasing MOC capacity and skill in organizing export promotion program. As the first activity, SIPPO is supporting MoC particularly sub-deputy of partnership and market expansion and this division is under the leadership of Deputy of Small Medium Enterprises to conduct B2B matchmaking for NI sector with focus on specific product groups such as spices, coconut and its derivatives and with possibility to extend the product groups such as cacao and coffee.
Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia has a clear vision to scale up SMEs to contribute to Indonesian export turnover into global market especially to Swiss and Europe market. A B2B matchmaking is planning in semester 1 2023 and the preparation has been taking place since June 2022. In order to create a meaningful b2b matchmaking, MOC is supported by SIPPO conducts a market orientation or buyer mapping activity. This activity will serve MOC and other stakeholders to have better understanding about buyers and legal requirements from the targeted market and eventually MOC and other stakeholders could help SMEs to determine realistic and relevant Indonesian products to be offered to Swiss and European buyers. Market orientation and buyer mapping report later then will be utilized to help MOC and other stakeholders to develop a market access strategy to achieve a fruitful impact in 2023. Furthermore, SIPPO as a capacity builder program, expects MOC and its partners will increase their ability to conceptualize and conduct B2B matchmaking including Market Orientation and buyer mapping in the future.
To officially announced B2B matchmaking program, MOC has conducted a hybrid public workshop on Thursday, 22 September 2022 in Bandung, West Java with a theme “Swiss and Europe Market Brief on Spices, Coconut and its derivatives”. At the workshop, Ms Fixy has presented a B2B matchmaking roadmap and a brief market demand in Switzerland and also She highlighted a proper preparation as a key success factor in organizing export promotion program. The workshop was attended by more than 30 SMEs and also some organizations which have mandate to assist SMEs to expand their market access such as Chamber of Commers Swiss Committee, PT. Sarinah, Ministry of Trade, West Java Provincial office of Cooperatives and SMEs, and West Java Provincial office Trade and Industry, . At the same time, His Excellency Muliaman Hadad – Indonesian Ambassador for Switzerland and Mr. Danang Prasta as Indonesia Trade Attaché for Switzerland also attended the workshop virtually.
During the workshop, there were many questions raised by the participants about the role of Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and also about the overall B2B Matchmaking program. Ms. Fixy, as Vice Deputy of Partnership and Market Expansion from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and also the host of this workshop was able to respond all those questions clearly to participants and along with Ms. Fixy, Mr. Jonas Spahn, Mr. Aris Darujo and Mr. Sutrisna from SIPPO team were responded some questions that related to SIPPO and the overall B2B Matchmaking program.
A way forward from the workshop that suppliers that attended the workshops were keen to register to the B2B matchmaking online registration which prepared by Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs
