FICAFÉ 2023

From November 3 to 6, the city of Puno hosted the sixth edition of the FICAFÉ fair, solidifying its position as a prominent event showcasing the exportable offerings of Peruvian coffee. This year, the fair distinguished itself by emphasizing the promotion of national coffee as a high-quality export product, in harmony with Peru's natural surroundings.

The opening of FICAFÉ 2023 was marked by the International Business Roundtable on the first day, bringing together twenty-five buyers from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. Commercial projections for the next twelve months are estimated to exceed $3.5 million, underscoring the event's pivotal role in driving the growth of the Peruvian coffee industry.

Coffee-producing regions such as Puno, Cusco, San Martín, Junín, Cajamarca, Amazonas, Pasco, and Piura proudly showcased their offerings of green coffee beans, specialty coffees, and roasts. This diversity reflected the richness and quality of Peruvian coffee beans, strengthening the country's position as a key player in the global coffee scene.

As a prelude to the International Business Roundtable, on November 2, two coffee tasting sessions were held for international buyers. The tastings featured coffees from selected organizations, highlighting the unique qualities of Peruvian beans. This event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of entities such as MINCETUR, the Export Productive Route, PROMPERÚ, Sierra y Selva Exportadora, and the Swiss Import Promotion Program (SIPPO).

SIPPO expressed satisfaction in contributing to the success of these activities, emphasizing the professionalism of its partners and the positive impact on the efficiency of the Business Roundtable organized by PROMPERÚ. International collaboration and knowledge exchange were key elements in enhancing the presence and competitiveness of Peruvian coffee in global markets.
